The Official Door County Go Guide

The Official Door County Go GuideThe Official Door County Go Guide™

From the early 1990s through 2006, the best vehicle for marketing your business to visitors was always the Door County Go Guide. Published by the Chamber of Commerce, it fit easily into a pocket or purse, quickly provided information about local businesses in an easy-to-use format, and was cost-effective for its advertisers. Now the Go Guide is back! For 2010, the Go Guide is available at 700+ locations across the peninsula.

The Door County Go Guide is designed to inspire visitors to the County through engaging editorial content, beautiful photography, and advertisements with compelling images and information that describe all that our local businesses have to offer.

Door County Today

Door CountyTODAY.com

DoorCountyTODAY.comDoorCountyTODAY.com is the new online magazine whose aim is to display the ‘real’ Door County online, in all its natural glory — its county and state parks, its shorelines, bluffs and stone fences…plus its uniquely interesting people — the restaurateurs, innkeepers, shopkeepers, potters, musicians, writers and painters who are the County’s backbone. This is the ‘Door County of the mind,’ the almost-mystical Peninsula that visitors take home with them in their hearts and minds.

Nor Door Sports & CycleryAn inventive, well-produced video communicates like no other medium…let us create a new video for your business and put it online — video sells to potential customers before they’ve even been to Door County!

Our specialty is the “webmercial,” the online version of a TV commercial —  brief, but packed with information. We’ll script it, shoot it, edit it and process it, all for just $395 (30-second version). Then, we’ll upload the finished video to YouTube and place it on DoorCountyTODAY.com free-of-charge for the viewing enjoyment of a key audience — people planning a trip to the County. And yes, you can also place it on your own website. You own full rights to the edited video and all outtakes for your use in creating future video projects.

Al Johnson's Swedish Restaurant & ButikOur website design philosophy is very simple. We create websites that visitors want to return to, again and again, because the content is so interesting, the design is so good, and the photography is so compelling. Plus, our websites are known for another factor — our websites make the viewer want to visit the real business, in person, the next time they’re in Door County!

And, we use and recommend WordPress for all of our websites. Why WordPress? We think that 90% of small business websites can be managed with this free open source platform. For example, this website is powered by WordPress.

WordPress is…

  • Easy to install and maintain
  • Supported by all hosting companies
  • The most popular platform and therefore is updated regularly
  • Easy to update with security patches
  • Secure
  • Great for use as a blog, website or both
  • Loved by Google, which keeps on coming back to check for new content, thus driving your Google ranking higher and higher
  • Easy to update…you can post new pages just by sending an email
